Don’t wait to create your bucket list! START NOW!

Here’s an uplifting story (link, below) of a woman who turned her “fat, lonely and sad” life around by creating a bucket list of things to do and got on with it. She lost 3 stone in weight and got married!

This is a brilliant example of how you are in control of your life and can do things NOW to change your life beyond belief. You don’t have to wait until near death to do it!

There is no reason why YOU should not begin your bucket list right now! All you need to start is a pencil and some paper! Start now – life is too short not to!

Make the most of what you have, everyday!!

Hats off to Jak Trueman, 15, who is battling with terminal cancer but still takes his girlfriend to the prom and is raising money to help others with cancer (article, below). Awesome!

If you’re moaning about something in your life right now, remember this young man and be inspired to make the most of your situation.

The secret to getting along with others

Ernie and Renie have been married for some 74 years (see article, below), say they never argue and that their disagreements are resolved by talking. Good for them!

I think what is unsaid here is that they also listen to each other. So often, in business and in personal communications, everyone is so keen to put their own point of view they forget the importance of also listening to the other point of view.

Give some thoughts to your own conversational style. When you are having a conversation, do you really listen or are you just getting your next comments ready while someone else is talking? Do you like to be really listened to or talked at?

Look Confident!

Research* has shown there is a correlation between how confident an individual is in his own skills and how skilled others judge him to be, irrespective of how skilled he really is (or is not). Those who underestimate their own skills are seen as less able by others.

If you want others to have faith in you, you have to at least show faith in yourself.

What message are you sending out to others?

Sit up straight, shoulders back, head up and start looking confident! Make this a habit!

YOU make it happen – no excuses!!

This is great! Graduate Alfred Ajani could not find a job so stood at a station at rush hour with a sign. He got an interview the same day. Good on him!!

So many would make a token effort by sending a few letters and then sit back and say “I tried”.

But this guy is prepared to do whatever it takes. And it worked!

Are you doing everything you can?

If you need help, it’s there!

There can be nothing left to write about poor Robin Williams. But there is something that everyone should remember.

If you are desperate, instead of taking tablets or tying a noose, pick up the phone and speak to a Samaritan.

They do not need to know your real name.

They will not judge anything you’ve done.

They will not trace your call.

You can phone 08457 90 90 90  or  you can email jo@samaritans.org

You can even visit. Check their website: http://www.Samaritans.org

Costs no more than a phone call (they are volunteers) and they’re there 24 hours a day.

Be the hero in your own life story – right now!

Lots of World War I stories are in the press at the moment. Stories about ordinary people living ordinary lives but suddenly thrust into life & death scenarios and finding within themselves heroic strength and courage they never dreamed was there.

It’s a shame that many have to wait for the most difficult situations to bring out the best in themselves. Some people drift through life, playing it safe, and never come anywhere near to the massive potential that is inside them.

Are you coasting along, living safely in your comfort zone?

If you really, really gave it your very best effort, 100%, what’s possible in your life?

If people say bad things about you……..

If people say bad things about you just prove them wrong.

Oh yes! Thanks to Richard Branson for this!

Feeling worried? Get over it!

Research from Slater and Gordon reveals that one in five hide a secret that could destroy their marriage and suffer with sleepless nights, mood swings and constant guilt because of it.

They sound like a real pain to live with!

Here’s the deal: You can’t change the past. You can change the future and for best results you need a good plan.

But, in the meantime, worrying? Put worry out of your mind. You might as well not let worry for tomorrow ruin today. Whatever happens tomorrow, why throw away the chance to be happy right here, right now?

Baz Luhrman sums this up well in “Sunscreen”:

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

A good life coach or business coach can help you get a plan to dump your baggage and get on with a life that makes you truly happy!

If you do something bonkers, at least make it pay!!

Fed up with 34C heat yesterday some Russian teenagers covered their lounge in their flat in plastic sheeting and filled it with water, creating an indoor swimming pool. They’re not revealing their names or address.

All health and safety objections aside, sometimes (not always) it’s good to follow your impulses, to go for what you want and life is also about creating memories. I’d have been more impressed if they had charged for entry, copyrighted their photos and got advertising income from a viral video on YouTube!
